btw, if you guys think malaysia oil is cheap due to government heavily subsidized, you are wrong.

the actual price is about 40sen more per category of oil. so even at RM 2.25 for ron 95 its
reasonable.

most of the money you pay in SG go to pay our oil company directors and taxes (which is to pay the million dollars minster (spelt wrongly on purpose))

This may be noobish, unverified and unsubstantiated, but my friend told me that malaysia's V-Power is weaker than singapore's 98. Might be true cos i didnt get that kick that the car usually gets after getting V Power in sg when I used Malaysian V Power once.

Our public transport is still among the cheapest in the world. Unfortunately this also means wages of public transport workers have to be kept down too.

erm , just for your knowledge:
vPower, Techron etc etc are call fuel addictives which are pre added to
the petrol. their main purpose serve as a detergent agent, "scrubbing" your
internal combustion engine so you get better power and efficiency with a cleaner engine.
After market additives, like atomizer oil blablabla, works in the same way.
You will see a lot of performance gain if you drive a relatively old car.

RON number, whether is 98,97,95,93 or 92 is the ratio of octane to other hydrocarbons in the mix.

92 guarantees minimum 92% of octane in the mix. can be higher.

Its also a myth that higher RON perform better. No.
each car manufacturer will state the minimum ron number its car needs to run on. Sports car and high performance car need higher RON due to its make of its engine, and it can make use of its extra few % of RON to run faster.

in summary, if you drive a everyday toyota, you don't need RON 97/98 or vPower. Running on high RON, you are just putting out more carbon dioxide than you should be.
But its a good practice to pump vpower every few months to "scrub" the engine.

About "power" of petrol, petrol is petrol, the diff is in the addictive lor.
But its also true that malaysia petrol station underground fuel holder is more dirty than the singapore ones.
These words come from mechanics from both sg side and jb side.
SG law does make local petrol station clean the holder every year or so.
MY side like never need to clean one.

Personal experience: I find that Malaysia caltex fuel burn much slower that other brands both in SG and MY. of coz burn slower also less power.
SG vPower is about same power as MY vPower.
Do take note there are 2 vPower in MY. one is same as SG type, one is called 97 with vpower. The former one is hard to find as not all SHELL have them.
