Is there a free version of Dr. DivX? Xeenslayer Nov 3rd, 05, 08:27 PM #1 (permalink)
Hi all, I'd like to use Dr. DivX for encoding, and also as a means of stress-testing my CPU. I downloaded version 1.0.6 build 1.0.5, but it's a trial version for only 15 days. I tried looking for older versions but cannot find any place to download them, and I'm not sure if they're free.

Can anyone give me some pointers about the program?

it is not free but alternative way is bit torrent(piracy), I do not encourage piracy but there are many alternative video encoder like VP7, x264, Xvid and OGM which are freely available on the web...

maybe try to check out this actively forum about media encoder?

Yeah, I don't want to pirate it also. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions and the link. I'll check them out.

Ok. I'm kind of fed up with Dr. DivX now, anyway. I've been compressing a DAT video file into AVI format for three times. It completes the task, but halfway through the video frame will get stuck at the same one while the sound continues unsynced, WTH. I'm definitely making the change alright... =S
