Windows XP Loading KennyLeow Nov 8th, 05, 07:05 PM #1 (permalink)
I officially dub myself, "The Trouble Magnet"!

Ok, this is the situation...

WHen i boot up, i get "Error Loading Operating System"

So, i go to boot menu to munually boot up and there i go, i can!

Anyone encountered this?

I read from MS site that it got something to do with my BIOS so i tried loading up the new BIOS over again and same thing.

Anyone to help? :confused5

That's the funny thing. I can't let it auto load.

I have to go to the boot selection from my BIOS, manually select the booting drive and i can load up to XP with no problem!!!

I'll try to look around for more answers before i do any drastic things...

Hopefully some software/windows genius in here can advise me.

Autorun meaning like normal windows bootup. Where i don't have to press anything for windows to boot up.

You know, power on, wait, load into windows.

I found out that my C: drive is no longer marked as active and no matter what i try, i just can't mark it anymore.

What i'm gonna do.

Ghost it to my 2nd HDD, delete the partition and format the damn thing. Then ghost it back.

Hope it works.

Er, you could also try using the Windows XP CD to fix the MBR records... search Google on how...

You tried using msconfig to check your boot.ini yet?
