Hi guys, i'm quite new to reformat,i got one rig comes with genuine XP OS with COA, but i don't have recovery CD.How do i reformat the harddisk...Can i borrow XP CD from my frd and reformat and key in the registry key from the COA???

Does the O/S considers as genuine? is quite urgent ur prompt reply is appreciated,thks in advance

yes u can borrow the xp cd from fren to install. however u will need to call microsoft to activate it. just tell them the truth if u are using it on the same pc with the coa

TQ very much...but another issue..the borrowed cd is a burnt copy not the original one..will it do?thanks

You can use a burnt copy of the Win XP CD from your friend but during CDkey prompt portion, enter the valid one instead. Just make sure both Win XP are of the same flavour eg yours is pro version, the burnt copy is also a pro version.

You can always download from here to get the original. Updated some more with Service Pack 3.
