Where to download Vista Ultimate Retail with SP2? sfreedom Oct 4th, 09, 01:30 AM #1 (permalink)
In the 1st place, I wanna point out that Im looking for a valid download of the full DVD ISO from Microsoft as I intend to format and install it on my notebook (which is currently running VISTA Ultimate) which does not come with any Disks. I know Ive heard of it but could not locate it anywhere. Any help would be appreciated!

Point to note: My Notebook is running VISTA Ultimate and have COA Sticker but no Disks!

Ask someone with access to MSDN to download the official ISO for you.

You can find it on BitTorrent but there is always the risk that it has been tampered with. Instances of malware or keyloggers rigged into the OS have been reported.

If your notebook is still working, try building a system recovery disk. Most manufacturers put an image on your HDD and advise you to make a recovery DVD set when you start using the product.

This recovery image is usually almost as good as a fresh intallation, and comes with factory drivers.

Not really as good as a fresh installation. it comes with tons of bloatware.

Just google for Vista Ultimate SP2 MSDN ISO torrent. I leave the rest to you. Do note that you may or may not be able to activate it because the CoA cdkey given to you isn't meant for end-user installs.

Actually i have a question abt those COA OEM key.. they aere tie down to certain batches of CD right.. Just like the older XP.. Hence getting any other ISO to try activate with the COA is jsut trying your luck?

If you pay attention to the COA on most notebooks, they usually have OEM listed. That means you will not be able to automatically activate via the Internet. Instead, you will need to use the automated phone system to activate Windows. A small inconvenience versus having to uninstall the onslaught of bloatware that comes literally embedded in your new computer.

Thats right, I simply hate the bloatwares that the Recovery System would install. I really dont mind reactivating via phone instead of the usual internet method.

Btw, anyone tried the ISO from MyDigitalLife? Is it clean and untampered?
