The NEED for Windows XP mode that comes with WIN 7 PRO and above reddevil0728 Oct 22nd, 09, 10:50 PM #1 (permalink)
I am thinking of upgrading from Win XP to Win 7.

However, I am puzzled whether if the Windows XP Mode is a necessity as it will decide whether i shld go for the pro version or the home premium version

why not just dual boot or backup your XP image?

only if u have programs that can't run on w7

Yeah, only if you have stuff which can't run and you MUST use, else there are probably alternatives. Or use another Virtual PC software. The XP mode is a sort of virtual pc also if i'm not wrong, just that its integrated seamlessly... or something like that...

Yes, it is integrated into win7.
You will need to run the installation using winXP thou.
But after that you can just access the software with win7
