Hi Guys!

need some help deciding which brand of bag will be much more suitable.

Crumpler, Lowepro, Case Logic... or any other brand that i missed out?

another thing, where can i get those silica gel? can those thirsty hippo be used also??

For my next lens, i like to take macro shots. which range of lenses should i get?

thank you very much.

Get a Lowepro Stealth Reporter or one of the Fastpacks. Maybe a CompuDayPack.

Use silica gel if really no choice. Otherwise definitely get a digicab dry cabinet.

Don't rush into macro just yet. Shoot with the 18-200, and get a 580ex2 flash. It is a must to use flash in macro photography. After that you can look at lenses such as the 100mm 2.8 from canon

Bags.
Depends on ur style and wad u like. Lastly wad else u wish to get? Lens, flash? Personally, im using Crumpler 7MDH, 3 Lens(1 attach), 1 flash with diffuser, 1 water bottle, 1 umbrella, remote, mp3.
There's also brand like Kata, Domke, Nat Geo.

Would definitely recommend u to use a dry cabinet instead of silica gel. In the long run, dry cabinet would be better. But for starters, i recommend u to just put it inside ur bag. Singapore weather is pretty ok for cameras. Silica gel can be gotten from most camera shops. Dunno bout thirsty hippo but i feel its not cheap in the long run.

100mm macro would be rather gd. ard 750++

Pls dun not use a external flash for macro unless u have a macro ring light tat uses the flash from the ext flash.

Macro ring flash shld be recommended.

I personally don't recommend ring flashes. Either use the Macro flash setup from Canon or get another 580ex2 on a shoot thru umbrella.

Very much advisable to get one 580ex2 first. TS' 18-200 is very versatile (etc in events and portraiture). Having flash is crucial when you are shooting in low light events at smaller apertures

Style wise.. i dont really care much. if really want to style then i will get those bags in many colours. haha..

i want to buy something that is more practical in usage. like weather-proof all these..

the withstanding problem is that, the recommended bags that i searched on the net, only can fit for 18-55 range lenses.
i dont wish to detach the lenses so often in case there is dust.

i am intending to get flash and macro lens as my starting point.

dry cabi.. erm... will try to get it 1st on the list then.

100mm macro is EF lens? Canon? any other brand that worth trying?

Then crumpler wont really be first on ur list. Rather Lowepro.

Most bags should be able to fit 55-280. For 70-200, it wont fit so nicely.

Yup. Canon 100mm.

The only other one that I would recommend around this price would be the Tamron 90mm.

If u like durability u may wanna give thinktank a thought too, i'm using the urban disguise variant and find it really good

wan value for money will be lowepro...

but durability can consider thinktank - me too using 1... but price wise is definitely cost more than lowepro of equivalent size

thanks to all who drop by to give some recommendations.

I got the crumpler 5 million dollar, gift from my friend. hoho..

ThinkTank bags are quite good as I see it.. maybe will consider getting the digital holster.

now time to save up to get flash and the macro lens.

Will recommend Lowepro fastpack or stealth reporter.....

Selling my Stealth Reporter now hehe =P

For macro lens, you need to look for macro lens with 1:1 magnification, and of course a flash... one good and cheap recommendation is Tamron 90mm
