Need recommendation for best point and shoot camera that is under the $500 range...

Thinking of getting Canon... but don't know which one...

I'm in China now... and saw the Samsung PL70 for $360.

According to the sales person, for the $300 range of cameras.... Samsung PL70 has the best features for the kind of price?

Anyone know how much it is selling in Singapore? I wonder if the Samsung warranty is valid in Singapore?
For Canon cameras, I have checked with Singapore office. They can convert the the 1 year local warranty to 0.5 yr in Singapore.

i recommend Fujifilm F100 series or Panasonic Lumix.
