Hi... I really know nothing about cameras and my friend is thinking of getting one for GENERAL USE. His budget is around 200/300

He's been looking at the Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS / Digital IXUS 95 IS Digital Camera i dunno these names are confusing

Anyone got any good suggestions?
