Which do you prefer? Nendoroids or Figmas? nutcase23 Feb 28th, 09, 01:59 PM #1 (permalink)
I don't think such a poll has been done yet so I'll try it.

As the title says, which do you prefer? Why?

Please note, I'm referring to preference here and NOT your buying habit. You can buy both and still have a preference *side glances Arayden*

Nendoroids are uber cute with high quality but their balance and articulation is quite limited.

Figmas are much more proportional with better articulation but suffer from lower quality and are more prone to breaking.

I still prefer figmas in general due to their posability and potential compatibility with other props but nendos are starting to have a place in my heart too (who doesn't love cuteness?).

PS: I'm leaving Revoltech out of this because they mostly do mecha and imho they should stay that way. Though I can't deny their recent non-mecha figures are getting better. A bit.

EDIT: Picture added for comparison

I'm just waiting for Kagamiku Nendo and figma to make a Miku family of sorts

Nendo. Cute and cute and kawaii.

For figma, better QC is needed. Always scared that the joints might break.
Figma need better and stronger joints.

Of course PVC & Resin are the best, provided you have the money. orz...

personally, i like nendo for their ultra cuteness and the fact that they mostly take all the moe factor of a character and condensed it into 1 little bundle of joy.

but i like figma for their fun and 'playability'. im addicted to playing with them with their flexibility and because they are poseable, i probably like them most of all. They are damn fun to play around with especially when stressed

i dun really like kaiyodo revoltech series as well. their characters are too... chubby. the only 1 I got was gurren lagann full drill mecha cos it was the only TTGL figure I could find. that 1 was pretty good though although i heard many complaints about arms dropping off for their fraulein line

From what I know and I have, Fraulein Revoltech is improving and the shoulder popping out problem for the Fraulein series is no more.

I am a proud owner of Fraulein Haruhi Bunny. I bought one just to see if it has improved. 1 disadvantage is that it is quite difficult to change the face. Other than that Fraulein is improving.

Figma and revoltech are fun to play when bored but nendo is just too cute.

If I had more fund. Orz.

I'll go for both. Although i admit Nendos's quality remains very constant ( and apparently most nendo faces do look like they came from the same designer ) and really, there's more fun having to switch them around (like a Yuki-Nagato Witch x Konata) as compared to Figmas ( you do know how weird it is to try to fit a over-sized kagami's head on a tiny miku hatsune body, don't you ? ).

Just that i won't be trying to get a complete collection of either Nendos or Figmas. ( Or that they require more funds being allocated to them than other merchandise. Especially having to get Both Nendo Konata and Kagami sucessfully. )

Still..... you do notice that no one has really voted Figmas on their own. The big heads are way too hard to resist.... even with their premium pricing going a little more than figmas. :p.

Nendos are just too cute to resist. Dunno whether to unpack them or leave them MSIB.
