Buy figurine from online shop, reach you damaged, who takes responsibility? wwenze Mar 22nd, 09, 09:08 AM #1 (permalink)
Long story short, I bought a figure from an SG online shop (not revealing the name til a few days later should he proves not to do anything), delivery thru DPEX Courier

Reach me on 17th, I go and unseal the package three days later on 20th (I know as a collector I shouldn't but luckily I did), found that the figure is damaged. (Box + plastic holder looks fine)

The question is, who should take responsibility in such a situation? Actually I believe that the fault was already present when leaving the factory, because I don't know what kind of physical damage can cause such damage to PVC while leaving no dent to the packaging, plus since the break is fairly clean I suspect it wasn't properly made hence it broke off by a bit of shaking after it was packed. But I digress again.

Manufacturor? Distro? Retailer? Or consumer LL suck tumb?

Could you show us a photo of the damaged item? I cant imagine the degree of defect that you are talking about. As PVC figures are mass produced, minor defects are unavoidable

Updated in 1st post. U see u will shock. I sending all the pics I took to the seller also, hopfully he can talk it out with the distro somehow.

I'm not blaming the seller at all either, because the chance of spotting this when in the box is really low. And since the box is sealed there's no way of taking it out and breaking it either, nor will people find out unless purposely stare at it. Same goes for the distro. This is just an unexplained tragedy.

I understand the part on minor defects, my most fav Nanoha statue has a blue pimple smack in the middle of her face. But I heck it anyway, because it was selling for cheap.

But since there would've been no way for anybody to do this kind of damage, then who take the responsibility? I myself had been a sucker for bad buyers who buy then say spoil or even worse, make spoil then claim spoil and had to refund, so I understand the problem of selling also. But I understand the risk of buying 2nd-hand and on garage sales also. That's why I bought from an SG online shop. Then kena this problem and seller himself no guarantee of getting it replaced... what's the point of buying from shops then?

Wish us luck, hopefully can resolve.

either your focus is off or you are using a handphone camera.

Clear photo helps in identifying problems.

Though I can see pretty much the main issue.
