UOB has a silver savings account. No physical holdings of metal. You can also purchase from Perth Mint direct in various forms.

You might want to consider 1 kilo standard bars. Coins have a hefty premium attached typically.

is there a reason you want the actual item? if not, try to get a broker or find a silver ETF. it will give you better leverage for your money.

Yeh thats why in any case you need to get respected brands e.g. from Perth Mint.

Heh those aren't mine.

You preferably sell on the private market. There is an active trading community. Goldsmiths will also take the bars, though there is a premium they will take off market value.

Silver is scary. The spot prices are completely different from real metal prices... so don't be surprised if you are quoted a vastly higher price over spot.

You "can" buy bars at spot over at Perth Mint of course... cept you'll be waiting months or more for delivery heh. And your money will have to be paid up front aka an interest free loan to the mint.

1 kg methinks is about the right denomination. Other sizes include 100oz and 400oz bullion. Those larger bars run a greater risk of forgeries since they are easier/worth the effort to fake.

What the forgers do is hollow out the bar and pour lead in to make up the lost mass, and weld shut the opening.
