Overclocked Core 2 Duo cannot run BF3 smoothly? Jonhny May 4th, 12, 10:09 AM #1

Have a c2d 8400@ 3.9 and need an upgrade

Even with the latest Core 2 Duo LGA775 CPU and a 560Ti graphics, he had problems even at low settings.

BF3 really cannot run smooth on LGA775 is it?

Before I upgraded from E6750 I had a ton of problems with BC2 stuttering and almost 5 min load times.
I bought a 2nd hand QX9300 C2Q and overclocked it from 2.50 to 3.2 everything runs fantastic but its daaamn hot even with WC.
Dice puts a ton of CPU related tasks into Core0 and almost nothing into Core 1 2 3, so core0 is doing most of the work and disseminating data for core 1 2 3 to calculate. Its multitasking to the extreme. In short, shit coding.

Maybe you can try defragmenting the hard disk, or reformatting and reinstalling Windows (try to keep your OS and data on separate partitions).
