I just bought a PSP Go and I think it is the biggest piece of shit ever to be released.

1. It uses a M2 card slot. Current max capacity is 16GB which is quite alot but I don't see why they did not stick to basics and use the MSPD standard which goes up to 32GB, is faster and is being used by alot more Sony products and more importantly the earlier PSPs.

2. Games are almost non existent unless you sign up for US PSN which will require that you either have a US address and credit card or resort to using expensive PSN top up cards. Even then, the selection of titles is small compared to what is available on UMD. Hopefully this will change in the future.

3. The price of the games cost the same as that of UMD if not more on PSN. This is ridiculous, digital distribution cuts down on alot of costs and this should be transferred to the consumers. For example, an ebook for my Kindle DX costs about a third of the price of the physical book.

4. The wireless support on the PSP Go is really poor, it does not support the latest standards in speed and security. In fact, it can't connect to my router because I have it set to WPA2.

5. It offers nothing new while removing some important features like the UMD drive.

All in all, I think it is a major failure of a product.

It is a product that should not be purchased by any sane gamer. Every piece of that hardware sold is a step closer to the end of physical UMD distribution. I spit in the face of Sony ever since this bullshit is announced. There is basically no reason or perks to buy it when there is literally zero upgrade to the fat and slim PSP. Just to be able to slip the PSP GO into our pockets in exchange for Bad control layout, smaller screen, no option to replace batteries, compulsory use of Media Go for file transfers, pathetic local PSN, seriously not worth the money.
