Mirrors Edge Game Review VRNews Jan 20th, 09, 04:21 PM #1 (permalink)
EA Games has really been pushing this game. There were a lot of trailers and screenshots online before launch day. First OCaholic can tell you one thing already at this early point of the review: this game is different. In the world of Mirrors Edge everything is supervised. At the beginning the city was lively, vibrant but the changes came slowly but certainly. Cameras and private security companies began to watch over the city and got it under their control step by step.

play through it myself.

Gameplay - 4/5
Intuitive controls (using mouse and keyboard), but a little bit too simple. Moves to execute have to be well timed, yet with a little practice it becomes natural. 1 point off for being too simple, plus unreal physics (they had to use the unreal engine)

Graphics - 4.5/5
It's the unreal engine. Don't expect too much. Yet despite the simple graphics, the way they generated the world was quite impressive.

Story - 5/5
Brilliant story. Kinda reminds you a little of a certain ahem ahem country

Replayability - 1/5
Play one time on Normal.
Play again on hard, it doesn't get much harder because the moves are the same just that you die faster.
Story end, game ends. Uninstall please or wait for future promised episodes.

Replayability is in the time trials and speed runs.
