PSP Go (PSP-N1000)
PSP Go was available for sale in retail shops on Thursday in US, Europe and Asia. Opinions and reactions were mixed as the Go was highly priced, putting off many prospective customers. For comparison, the new PSP Go (PSP-N1000) retails at a MSRP of USD$249.99 whilst the older PSP-3000 at USD$169.99 in the US. (On a sidenote, the PSP Go retails for $412 in Singapore)More on next page...

Whoever approved the re-design in Sony should be fired with immediate effect. It's basically the same PSP with features that isn't even improvements to the current phat and slims.

re-design is not the issue.. since the design is not so bad looking or crap...

the more impt issue is the price is not value for its performace, from qisahn they are selling @ 365 and a 16G M2 cost around 95, basically the psp go IF without the in build memory is around 270... which is still a little pricey from what i feel... although sony may have calculate the price of the design in...

and another issue will be like wat the news as said, the downloading of game is taking tooo long, imagine tons of ppl downloading from a server... its bound to be very slow... making it worst... UMD-less...

What i posted in the VR Article section..

Quote:
The PSP GO features

1. Smaller Screen
2. Horrible D-pad layout
3. No option to use USB and force consumers to use specialise cable to incorporate Media Go to transfer file.
4. Can't change battery (No more long hours of play)
5. NO UMD SLOT (So what happens to all our current UMD games!?)

Considering the fact that the local PSN is pathetic at best, the PSP GO is a NO GO here.
I'll still say it's bad overall design in terms of features (..or rather lack of features). Only looks nice in terms of the shape and size. Sony trying too hard to be Apple.

ah ok... i tot ur re-design is that looks and design of the outside looks for the psp-go... i read your post a few times before i made mine... jus making feel you are still talking about the looks...

well... watever sony does, we don always have to accept it... if sales goes bad... they will try lower price or even better their PSN... who knows?? or worst... no more production for psp-3000 and all have no choice but to get psp-go...

I wouldn't put my bets on them to better the local PSN, PS3 has been released for 3 years and the local PSN is still pathetic. If they have genuinely researched into what consumers want in this region, it would have been rectified. Not a surprise since Sony's Playstation support for consumers in the southeast asian region has been lackluster for a long time.

It will be better if SONY releases all their demos, updates, patches, equally on the same time throughout the world everytime and make downloading faster and maybe enable online play through wifi

then i think this way.....more ppl will like the PSP Go

If Ken Kutaragi is still with Sony Computer Entertainment, the PSP GO would've been alot better.
