DOD Source Error, Need Help - PC SHOW 2010 | COMPUTEX 2010 | VRForums

I just bought DOD Source today and it wont let me change the advanced video options. I am currently playing the game on my laptop which has the following specs:

Intel P-M CPU @ 1.6GHZ
512MB PC-2700 RAM
60GB HDD
Intel 852/855 GME 64MB onboard video

I know I shouldn't be trying to play it on this system, but my desktop is currently not operational because the HDD is in the shop. The game runs, so it isn't lack of hardware compatability, it just runs really bad. The default advanced video options are at medium and high, if I could change them to low it would suite my laptop better, but everytime I change anything in advanced video and go to apply or OK, I get an error to the tune of "Tried to reference memory location "whatever it is", and couldn't read it". Any help is appreciated.

becos of tis, It wont allow u to change the setting in the game.....

until 2 change the graphic card to a mid range 1.....

cos, I had tried it b4, tat time, I wanted to change my setting in the CS:S to low, cos Im using the onboard graphic , which is intel extreme graphic 64RAm....
I wanted to change the setting to low, cos It is lagging , graphic low, when i wanted to change the setting, sudden, I was bring back to the desktop screen, there was message saying tat memory error, need 2 restart the com again....

But now, I changed to a 6800GT graphic card, I can changed the setting to low/med/high, as n when i like......

Thank you very much. Out of 3 forums you are the first person to explain why this was happening to me. The only problem is, this is my laptop, I can't change the graphics. I am going to have to wait until my new HDD arrives in 1-3 weeks for my desktop. Once again, thanks alot for the help.

WOW.

Jade monkey my friend, so the DOD Source has hit the stores eh? wads the DOD atmosphere in USA like? are there alot of clans? skirmishes or sorts?

wah...im drooling at the fact that USA has a larger pool of players..

I can't speak for DOD Source, but for normal DOD there are alot of players and clans in North America. It's alot of fun. I have found that for DOD I haven't seen alot of servers when I search that are outside of North America, when playing CS I used to frequently find servers in Germany, France, Russia, so on.
