Details of the complaint :
Recently bought a Foxconn Black Ops mobo from Dark Shinigami, on behalf of a female friend. He claims that there is full warranty on the mobo. However, within the first week of installation, the audio could not work and subsequently, the mobo could not boot properly.

Called him in the first week to help, he claims he will contact Night raven for RMA( think he bought it from him). But, later he refused to reply to any calls. Brought the mobo to the distro and the distro verified that the mobo's northbrige was damaged due to prolonged heat exposure( most prob from OCing). Distro claimed that there was NO warranty as the mobo was actually a prize from a competition. So, now my friend is stuck with a mobo that could not boot properly and no venues to seek redress.

Can any one help or would Dark_Shinigami come forth and clear this dispute?

Erm, sorry I'm unable to help much, maybe you check if there is a warrenty sticker at the back of the Mobo normally with the month/year ? Or is there a receipt provided with the mobo ? If unable to contact Dark_Shinigami, have you contacted night raven to verify if its a prize or retail board ?

That is completely bull**** ...whether or not its a prize from competition, there is a warranty on the mobo...

The warranty is given by the manufacturer themselves....so how can the distro said no warranty?

conclusion, seller is an asshole for not informing buyer about defect due to OCing; distro another asshole for not honouring warranty

some board hv no warranty cause they issue it as a prize..

Be aware that many warranties are void unless accompanied by reciept when purchased AND many manufacturers/ retailers can also ask for IC / name of the original purchaser.
I have been caught out before and ended up with a dud purchase.

most distros won't go so far as to ask for ic ect ect... ppl like me would raise hell online and let others know just how f'ed up their RMA process is and hey, thats not good for business isn't it.. everytime i have trouble rma'ing just post online.... the solution comes along rather quickly... just make sure u have the basics.. warranty sticker at least, invoice preferred. well if this board is indeed a prize, there's a high chance it only has DOA warranty/7days/3 months at most... if the seller claimed there was warranty, he either has to honour that, or give a refund.

I called dark shinigami last sunday every 30mins from 6pm to 10pm & he didnt answer at all. I called him on monday during lunchtime, his phone was off.

Anyone can help me with this?

Night raven is not answering my pm as well. Its coming to a week le.

Currently he didnt start any thread, that celeron bundle was started by another seller, so I dun wan to make noise there.

Em..dont remember that Dark is such people, anyway, think its best to wait for him to verified that warranty issue.

If you reading this Dark, you not spoliting your own rep but also night rep..so think for others also...

From the given story, owy888 should go after Dark_Shinigami, not Night raven.
Dark_Shinigami was the one who dealt with owy888, not Night raven.

I don't know if Dark_Shinigami bought a faulty mobo from Night raven but he sold that mobo to owy888 and have to verify that warranty issue / solve the problem with him.

if the MOBO issue need a $ refund to settle. Ideally. Dark_Shinigami should refund owy888 then he can go after Night raven if the problems arised from the latter.

Although it's the same MOBO. owy888 has no trade with Night raven thus can't go after him. Night raven is responsible to Dark_Shinigami but how long has the first sale occurred since the second?
