Advise needed.....!

Run the program called cpu-z. to my dismay, under the selection column founded detected cpu processor = 1 and cores = 1. what happen......?
but the above cpu should be dual cores.
anyway, how can i post image to the thread.

What OS are you running? Did you just do a CPU swap? If you move from 1 core to 2 cores, you must reinstall. You may be running a uniprocessor build of Windows.

did you upgrade from a single processor system? if yes, you need to install the ACPI for dual CPU

currently running on winXP sp2 ver. it a new setup meaning using gigabyte GA-8VM800PMD-775 with intel 805 cpu.

Dragonfire, what do u by cpu swap...? btw, i used back the harddisk with os installed from my previous setup, do u tink i need to reinstall in the OS again...?

its better to reinstall your OS if u changed the processor from a single to dual on the same motherboard.

A reinstall WILL fix your issues You are now runnning a singleprocessor build of windows. What I meant by cpu swap is tossing the old single core one and plugging in a brand spanking new dual core - without reinstalling OS
