AMD INTEGRATES GPU INTO CPU

romours about a gpu and cpu hybrid have been rife ever sinse AMD announced that it planned to take over ATi, but it's all official now. The new CPU's will incorporate AMD's new "fusion" technology which is designed to offer a modular approach to CPU's whereby customisable CPUs can feature differing amounts of cache, cores and features including a GPU.

as well as this, AMD plans to intreoduce a new Fusion instruction set which adds to the standard x86 instruction set. No specifics have been provided yet though.

If the GPU is able to help in doing other task similar to a x86 processor, it will be excellent.

DualCore with IGP on processor, then 3 cores, multitasking in desktop, 2 core + 1 core for GFX in games/3d apps.
