A solution to cheap itx casing?

"Computex 08: Solves the lack of cheap cases

Foxconn was showing a rather large mini-ITX case at its booth, simply called the the RS233. It measures 283x282x95mm (DxHxW) and it can either stand on its side as per the pictures, or be put flat like a desktop system.

It might not look like much, but it has some interesting features for DIY ITX users, especially when it comes to low-cost Atom setups. First of all, it accepts a standard 5.25-inch optical drive, which makes it easy to find a suitable drive. It also has one external and one internal 3.5-inch drive bay.

On top of that it'll come with an unspecified PSU, it has two front USB 2.0 ports, audio jacks for a headset, a front eSATA port and a low profile card slot around the back. But this isn't the best part, as where it gets really interesting is that Foxconn is expecting it to sell for sub-US$50 including the PSU, which is really hard to knock considering that most mini-ITX cost a lot more than that."

according to the engineer, there is not enough "space" for the extra lanes. But it is still Hybrid CF capable. More for HTPC bah. Not so much for gaming.


The only gaming board for mini-itx w/ X16 slot i know, erm....its the one i'm using it right now.
