Calm down boys. Give it some time and PLEASE wait for some decent review, esp on the power consumption. I really don't want to see casing distro getting more RMA because of this .

VIA New ITX Board dr_disciple Nov 7th, 09, 09:18 PM #1953 (permalink)
There is a very good reason why VIA is still in the ITX market and in fact, very popular.

1. Dual HDMI - You don't see them on MOST ITX board, I think none. This board supports Quad Display.

2. 22watt power usage - CPU + Chipset. That is just awesome.......

3. Dual GB Lan - only on industrial board

4. HD Audio - You don't see them anymore.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot why they are not common

Price:

S$510.00.

Detailed specs - VIA Embedded – Leadership in Integration and Miniaturization - VIA Technologies, Inc.

[VGA] Low Profile 4350 dr_disciple Nov 7th, 09, 09:26 PM #1954 (permalink)
Nothing new here, just a regular low profile 4350 with a HSF slightly occupying the neighboring slot. What makes this card worth a mention is the price.

S$50.

But when the 785G chipset ITX board is out, don't think you'll need this anymore unless Hybrid CF is being brought back to life.

Thanks all for the replies.

Is there something like this but able to house a 3.5" HDD?

APEX COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY

Beside ION is there any AMD which are comparable?

Thanks.

Yep, that is one main reason why VIA is still an extremely popular choice for VIA in industrial and commercial use.

oH my. didn't know they had a new model. I've always thought the only model VIA had was the VB8001.

Well at least this board has a more decent discrete like graphics core (more like those used in laptops) instead of integrated Chrome 9 graphics. Not to mention much more modern as well. i've never encountered any incompatibility problems with a Chrome 430 ULP on my sister's laptop.

Well, that board uses a Nano L2200. should be pretty decent compared to an Atom based board. To be honest, i did consider a VIA nano instead of that Phenom II 905e but it was a little too underpowered for my liking. If they had the Dual core Nano, i'd have gone for it.

Oh.... and that floppy connector on such a small board..... guess its needed though for its intended usage.

ANd I've got an idea what to stick into the Minix 780G's PCI-E X16 slot:

Unfortunately, it seems to have run out of stock....

1) MW-100 quoted $160 with power adapter.
2) ANTEC ISK 300-65 - $180.
3) Minix LX-01 - $180 as well.
4) CFI-A8989B - $99.
5) ASROCK ION330 with 2GB DDR2-800 320GB HDD $526

The mini-itx casings quite expensive leh...

Well, Mini-ITX casings usually do come with a sort of PSU or adapter since those are harder to find separately......

Zotac ION is not available in SG due to competition from Asus and Asrock, no point bringing them in as the price will be the same or slightly more exp depending on the model (w/ Wifi or built in Power adaptor connection)

What is your budget and the use for the ITX system? Maybe we can help you here.

Thanks for ur reply.

Zotac ION is not available in SG??? Argh... no wonder i cant find it.

Basically my plan is to set up a low power HTPC + NAS + 3.5g with ICS, so i think Zotac ION is the best since it come with WIFI.

I looking for a slim form casing which is able to mount 1x 3.5" HDD. Eg: MiniX LX01 (6.5cm(D)*9cm(W)*27cm(H)). I dunno y the shop quoted me $180 for Minix casing where this site stated $129 only. I also read that there is a cloned minix Lx-01, where can i find it?

I only need... Ion MB + 1x 2gb Ram + 1tb 3.5" HDD + Casing. Targetted budget = $550.

BTW, the asrock atom 330 very cute and very tempting.
