Hello all from France!

Well I plan to build a new PC with a CM 690 case, a Core i5 750, a GTX 275 graphic card, 4GB DDR3, a Corsair HX620 power supply. For the HDDs, I first plan to use two WD Caviar Black: one 500GB for OS and software, one 640GB for personal data and also to store the Windows pagefile, the temporary files (So for performance purpose, I need to have two HDDs with the same cache value).
I read on some forums that Caviar Black HDDs generate some noise in the CM 690 case and also that these HDDs generates vibrations into this case. So I would like to know if it is true? I am sure there are a lot of people on this topic that owns Caviar Black HDDs . Could you tell me if Caviar Black are pretty quiet in the CM 690 case? or if I have to choose Caviar Blue HDDs instead if the noise is too heavy?

Also another question: I read that the most noisy fan is the one on the side panel that refresh the graphic card. Is it true? And so, what are the solutions to reduce the noise of this fan?

Thank you very much for your answers!

Sorry: I can't read all the 135 pages of this topic! And I am not very used to read and write in english! Thank you for your understanding!

hi there,
i dont think hdd can generate noisy sound..dont worry of hdd...only thing u should worry is heat..buy a good fan and put in front of cm690 to cool down your hdd..

Thank you for your answer! The CM690 is already sold with a fan in front of the case and in front of the HDD cage, isn't it? Do you tell me to add another fan at the rear side of the HDD cage?

By the way, any other comment from CM690 owners that also have WD Caviar Black HDD in this case?

No noise from caviar black, after the case is closed up. The noise comes mainly from the case fans. Considering that i have a push + pull config for my Corsair H50, 3 intake fans in front 1 rear exhaust, 1 side panel exhaust , 1 bottom fan, 1 fan behind the HDD cage and 2 140mm intake fans on top.

11 - 120mm case fans + the small one behind the MB,

i got that prob when i first bought it. After 1st installation of DVD ROM, it can't fit properly... Broght back to BL and got it changed since still warranty period. But was told to exercise MORE care when opening... if still the same thing, then will hv to purchase the frame separately... abt $10+ I think...
