Good info, the new SmartBuy Blue is indeed MCC004 but made in Taiwan by Prodisc. The QC is sub-par with a few faulty discs per 100 spindle, will be posting the longer term survivality in another 6 months or so.

Just did a scan on this 3 year old MBI disc on an old cranky Sony 710A burner today. Looks like given the right care, this MBI has done rather well so far in a spindle case protected from light by the original paper wrapper normal local air.

Mitsubishi pearl white top CMC made MCC004, bought these hoping it may be better than our local MIS MCC004. Indeed an imporvement in the sense that data is still viable but looks like this dye still isn't the best choice for local use with the high PIE/PIFs over time.
