I still swear by Arctic Silver 5.

After so many years.. today's latest thermal compounds only beat AS5 by a pathetic 1 to 2 degrees? This is a joke.

Good for those who need to restock on thermal compound or compound hoppers

It wasn't any different here in Singapore.

I must give anabond a try on day soon. I tried some of the new pastes but eventually switched back to AS5, performance is still there.

True... but I am still using that same tube today. The first AS5 tube I bought when it was released. That was back in 2000 or 2001. Back in 2000 AS5 had no equal. I am glad this "expensive" tube of AS5 has lasted me almost 10 years now thru my numerous upgrades.

Have you actually finished any tube of thermal paste you got before you bought the next?

Also I have had a feel of some of the new compounds and some are quite thick. Application of AS5 is still very easy as it isnt as vicous.

I am sure the newer pastes beat AS5 in varying degrees. However not impressive enough to make me jump at them. I will try out the best paste of "tomorrow" when tomorrow comes and I run out of my AS5. They will surely beat all pastes in the review you quote.
