anyway, SSD technology still not very matured yet and still got lot of room to improve.
just look at this review of hows the TRIM help to boost SSD performance, just done few days ago by anandtech.
AnandTech: Updated: The SSD Improv: Intel & Indilinx get TRIM, Kingston Brings Intel Down to $115

so, just stick to harddisk first. more stable.

your 2.5k include monitor, kb/mouse, speakers, etc etc? if not then youre settings should be more or less fine... some might suggest getting better graphics, i say 5870 is far more than enough for maxed settings on most current games. futureproofing is also quite ensured since you are using socket 1366, maybe if you want your PSU to last longer, get a bit higher wattage of around 750W. youll probably need it if you intend to buy another 5870 and xfire them.

Yup, was going to futureproof this setup.
my old setup is too old to be futureproofed.
Am using an amd not even a duo core.
Most prob wont xfire the cards thou. If newer cards are out, i think it's better to get the newer cards instead. So i guess 700w should be enough.... i hope.

For me, I think if we go with Asus MO, graphic card also can stick with ASUS, since the different between Powercolor and Asus is not much. Please correct me if I am wrong, since I am only newbie.

@Xavior: Hi, I also have the same demand, to get a gaming rig, around this budget. Shall we meet for a cup of coffee, and discuss ^_^ (call me if you are interested 81098198)
