After putting all the prices of the above parts together...the cost is $1,786.81.

i need u guys help in giving me comments in the parts that i have selected...

i have a budget of $1800...but i need the rest of the money to buy keyboard, speakers and casing...

any input will be hugely appreciated...or perhaps with the budget of $1780,can u guys give me a better guide on what are the parts u will choose...amd parts also no problem...

really need help......

hi and welcome,

basically will need to know when is ur next upgrade after this, and also what you will be using the rig for. Because if the next upgrade will be more than a year, amd dual core will be a better choice.

If its less than 6mths next upgrade, ddr2 will be better choice.

and the acer wide screen has a couple of bad reviews.

go for ddr2 or wait for conroe/am2 but will exceed ur budget

hes talking bout the coming am2 launch in usa.

but wont reach sg shores so soon and its going to be expensive with not much of a performance gain

can i ask u a qn, are you be able to wait for afew month for the new intel platform to release. It is gonna be release ard next 2-3 mths so maybe u wait a little longer and u won;t regret for getting it.

haha i have been waiting for a long long time already before i got my this sum of money...it's all my savings during this long period...i cant afford the new intel platform so no point waiting anymore...

so for amd parts what do u guys suggest???

i think i might go for amd as it's much more worth it...

please i really need sugestions...

oh god gollum the price of AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+ is SGD$505.20!!!

i cant afford that...

maybe 3200+...but got any affordable and good motherboard to go with it???
