Dell 2407WFP-HC Test - Popular 24″ LCD elvoves with vivid colouring
The 2407wfp-hc uses a wide CCFL backlight, has HDCP compliancy and also does 1:1 at 1080p. Dell uses wide CCFL backlight
Dell released the 2407wfp back in March 2006 and it was HDCP complient and it could do full HD resolution (1920 x 1080). Furthermore with it’s periodic specials, the monitor was cheaper than it’s competition and quickly became popular.
On the 19th June, the successor to the 2407wfp, the 2407wfp-hc went on sale. The main feature being the extended colour gamut (92% of the NTSC colour space) via the use of a new WCCFL backlight with traditional monitors having a colour gamut of 72%. However the brightness has been lowered from 450 cd/m2 to 400 cd/m2, but apart from that the specs are the same as the 2407wfp. At the time of it’s debut it cost 108,000 yen (~$872 USD)
