Monitor Aspect Ratios - Beyond 16:9, iPad to the rescue?

PC displays have evolved from bulky CRT to superslim LED-backlit LCD units, but the resolution hasn't really improved over the years - in fact, with the monitor aspect ratio shenanigans by the panel vendors pushing 16:9 movie screens to everyone just to save a few cents, it, and the associated productivity, has effectively decreased. Will user's complaints and developments like iPad 3 2048x1536 4:3 screen change the situation?

Nah. Philips has 21:9. Gamers would love something like that
16:9 is prefered by people who view spreadsheets.
4:3 doesn't really give the associated productivity any inch of benefit. Once you do portrait on 16:9, viewing of pdf is of much ease.

16:10 is just odd ball. Maybe for that windows taskbar?

    If got table space lah.

My table so filled with stuff, hard to do anything...

Anyway I don't like using eyefinity. Prefer to look at one place instead of need to turn here and there when playing game.

So 1 portrait and 1 landscape is best at least for me.
