Razer Blade 17-inch Gaming Laptop - Not Quite the Saviour of PC Gaming VRNews Aug 27th, 11, 09:51 AM #1

Looks like our grandiose next generation Intel UltraBook Platform prediction was wrong. Instead, the just announced Razer Blade is a slim 17-inch notebook equipped with an underwhelming Intel Sandy Bridge Dual Core Processor and Nvidia GT555M GPU, going for a not very competitive US$2799. Where is the salvo against "shoddy console ports and sub-par console graphics"?

Gaming laptop 17", you can't go wrong with an Asus G7x series. Get those with real full HD resolution also. No point settling for less.

Why does that look like a black MBP?

And Razer support, I'm not so sure.

Before bashing it for not being a cheap performance laptop. Think carefully. Would Razer enter a market that claimed HP as a victim?

Its going to cater to a different market from the saturated cheap laptop market.

If they came up with just the full 104 sized keyboard section then it would be quite worth buying

Sometimes is not about whot to target in the market. Since the Laptop industry is pretty saturated with many big players, HP need to differentiate themselves with the rest of the competitors.

Just like what apple did. Cool look + new interface and creating a whole new experience of OS and experience of using a laptop and their interface. Heck they might be also marketing themselves as selling a new lifestyle. Macbook air with its SSD was also a pioneer

Currently HP is pretty much like the rest of the companies, using the same OS, hardware etc. Acer selling point would be pretty much is cheap price, Fujitsu will be their durability, dell... i dunno leh haha....

1. Think of something NEW, provide a totally whole new experience with their laptops. I kinda like their Envy with the Beats theme... lol... But im not tt smart lar... cannot think of any idea liao....

Only after they distinguished themselves from the rest of the competitors, then they can work towards targeting the markets: er Business, Gaming, Home, Ultraportable...
At least they have a selling point...

Sorry for the rant. Dun shoot me liao... Relax dude.... dunno u cannot tahan comments psps...

The more I think about it, the more it looks like razer wants to take on the Ipad style of market, but instead of crap apps. Why not full fledged system high end for gaming with an equally high end price?

You know, ppl who don't waste their time with Ipad but want something better yet still as portable?
