actually im using a cheaper way to filter my top fan by using those white static cleaner paper which is used for cleaning floor dust. I cut using scissor to cut 120mm by 120mm and poke a small hole for the 4 screws. Then 1 by 1 take out the screw and put the static paper.

Haha this can save u $12 or more as i took my mom's static cleaner paper And my rig inside is super clean now when i put on the static floor cleaner paper as the filter

then what's the airflow like from the top fans? can you feel air going in if you put your hands on top of the casing?

Yes i can feel the airflow from the top when i put my hand there Some more i increase the fan speed from 1200rpm to 1650rpm with no whistling sound

I also save 20 dollars for not getting the metal mesh fan filter

did you cut out the honeycomb on top? and i won't be able to use that because i'm using gelid fans that only supplies rubber fan mounts, unless i make a hole in the static paper too. oh and don't forget to add me to the club! my pics are on page 156

Okay i need your opinions on this.

I'm ordering two more gelid wing 12 UVgreen fans from petrarchan's MO. One of these fans will replace my stock cm rear exhaust fan and the other will be placed in front of the HDD cage.

Before i confirm my order, i would like to ask whether i should use a weaker fan as my side intake, remove the side intake completely, OR keep my gelid wing fan there? Because mr. Kimutaku pointed out that he removed his side panel fan and really noticed a difference. I tried it out myself and i placed my gelid wing 12 in front of the HDD cage. However, i noticed that my system temps were lower when i was using the wing 12 on the side panel than when they were in front of the HDD cage(this was in an airconditioned room). By the way, i am aiming for a positive pressure setup because of having less dusty air in the chassis. I have also read somewhere that the side intake fan disrupts the front to back / bottom to top airflow. However, with the lower system temps i get, i don't really know which to follow. Question here is, Does the front to back airflow really help in lowering system temps/cpu temps? Or is it more a case of how much cool air is being blown into the chassis?

On to the next part...

To enhance the expulsion of hot air, i removed the metal stuff that you have to break off when installing an optical drive and i felt more hot air coming out from the front of the casing, where the optical drives are meant to be placed (i'd recommend those who haven't done this to do this, especially if you're gunning for a positive airflow setup). This brings me to another question. Do you think i should place an exhaust fan under my optical drive to further aid in the positive airflow? Or should i place an intake fan to blow cool air directly over the ram modules and into the cpu fan.

And last of all, to those who removed the honeycomb in the front panel, WHAT TOOL DID YOU USE TO CUT IT OUT?

Thanks for reading and really sorry for the long post. i hope you guys can help me out

so i assume ur top 2 fans are intake as well? the front panel fan u need to change to a stronger fan for intake as for the rear exhaust i suggest u just leave the default 120mm fan there. as for the side panel it really doesn't matter whether u installed it or not cos it does not affect the temp at all. tat's for my case. the moment i changed my top 2 fans to intake it really makes a big difference of 4 - 5 degrees on system temp. as for the optical drive normally i see pple installing it as intake. i not sure abt it cos i still have not installed it instead i installed 1 120mm fan at the HDD bay same as bro kim.

the honey comb thing u must cut it with a tool that will snap it off cleanly or else it will be ugly. try looking through this thread i think some bros have done it before.
