Corsair or Seasonic Hairyworm Dec 3rd, 09, 03:33 PM #1

Dear all,

I'm pretty much in a dilemma now. I don't know to choose from Corsair HX850 or Seasonic X-750

Corsair - 7 years warranty, only 80 plus silver

Seasonic - 5 year warranty but with 80 plus gold.

Please do help me input your choice and comments.

I'd say seasonic. There isn't a point to having a 7 year warrenty. even after like 3 years, you'll find that the required connections often aren't there. So you'll get a new PSU.

so true... almost every system i buy/upgrade will come with new mobo/cpu/rams/psu/gfx... its almost like a yearly thing... so 3 year warranty is more than enuff.

If you're talking 1,2 or 3 years warranty vs 5 or 7... the answer is obvious.

However between 5 and 7 years... there's practically no difference unless you're a very frugal PC builder. Choose the one you prefer.

Personally I'd take a PSU from a manufacturer. Seasonic for me.

The temptation of 80 Plus Gold is just too tempting for me.

the real life cost savings is not that much from a 80 plus bronze/silver especially at low usage (100-200w). if you want to save power get a good motherboard/windows 7 and turn the power savings on

Gold vs silver difference should be around less than 15-20 dollars a year (but don't quote me on this). With many people in forum having excellent experiences with Seasonic, i suggest you join the Seasonic horde
