To twilight,

Yeah, I am still hanging on. I feel very paiseh towards the 4 forum members who have paid their deposit. Still waiting either for MilkCheese to reply or someone else to replace him.

You want to be part of the MO? twilight?

To All:

I have decided to make the order and end the MO for now.

I will pay for the 5th unit personally in advance to fulfill the minimum order quantity requirements. I do not feel right to let down the 4 others who stuck to their side of the deal and transferred the deposit promptly.

That extra unit would be in Black.

Anyone, who is interested. Please email me for availability of the extra Black unit.

I will notify everyone when the units arrive in Singapore.

Thanks for this useful post: Jun 25th, 09, from chinesealbumart, Jun 25th, 09, from twilight

Haiz,

I am having trouble with them over shipping now. They want to use Fedex, which is incredible. Want to charge me 199USD just for shipping.

I demanded them use EMS. Awaiting their reply now.

199USD for shipping is simply too steep. My margin is not that healthy.

I beg to differ respectfully, as a student myself, I've hated printing my notes, and I have been researching e-Ink devices for the past 2 years. Finally the eSlick announced and I made no qualms about purchasing my own, why?

1) Price point, way cheaper than Kindle, Sony eBook Readers, Iliad.

2) Its made by Foxit, nuff said!

3) This e-Ink technology is going to constantly improve. If I were to wait for the "ultimate" device, I would have to wait forever.

As an avid gadget fan, I always make my gadget purcahses after intensive research, and only when the a gadget features with its price point reaches a sweet spot, will I commit my purchase, and in this case, with the incredibly low price offered by the eSlick compared to the almost S$800 for Kindle, or S$1000 for the iLiad, and similarly for the Sony readers, this is really the best I can get right now.

Of course, I would prefer Touchscreen, to annotate, of course I want an A4 sized device, of course I would want color, of course I would want the Samsung e-Ink controller chip in the device, but how long am I supposed to wait, another 3-5 years? During then, why don't I enjoy my eSlick first, and upgrade later?

And yes, I do have my own eSlick, and I love it. Been using it for lectures, reading novels, and even saving long internet articles for the long travelling trips.

As a lazy programmer, who can't be bothered to print stuff, this rocked. Because I hate staring at the LCD screen itself, so I really loved the eInk technology, because there is no strain on my eyes whatsoever! I definitely wouldn't want a backlight on the device because it would be back to the same LCD strain again. (Reflected light without glare is the best way to read, trust me)

If you guys have any questions about the use of eSlick, do let me know!

Cheers!
uh Kindle where got so expensive ?

now only 300usd so is about 450sgd

+ shipping the most 500sgd only ma..

Yup. Popular carries the EcoBook (Rebadged Hanlin V3), iRiver Story, and JetBook Lite. Alternatively you can buy one directly from eReader.com They're having an offer on the eSlick at US$259 with about US$100 back in ebook rebates.
