BTW ricky, if you know that your Q6600 is a G0 stepping why one earth is it still with a stock heatsink and not overclocked? I would assume that anyone who bothered to find out what stepping their CPU was (or even knew what a stepping was) would be the same people who would overclock the crap outta their CPUs

Because the freaking case sucks and I can't change it as my parents have indicated that anything radical to my PC (ie, anything that will be unable for me to 'smuggle') MUST happen after my A level's. Which is a year away...

Uh that means all the HSF in this MO no AM2 and i7 mounting?

Those meant for i7 will have i7 mountings, the rest all LGA775.

No it just means that the next time you need mountings you can get it from the local distro directly. faster that way. the hsf in this MO are exactly what is on the net. we don't rip out mountings.
