TS,

I received one feedback about a Moshi Clock defect though. Personally we do not want to meddle in such affairs between buyer and seller.

But from the looks of it, this case both parties must come to an agreement on how to resolve it; its not just seller take money and say "thank you" and bye.

Waiting for a response Puddie Nov 3rd, 09, 06:37 PM #197 (permalink)
Hey mokky,

It's been more than 3 weeks since I first approached you regarding the faulty clock you sent me, and I've yet to receive a satisfactory response from you.

I understand you're waiting for a response from your supplier, but even the mods agree that this is taking way too long.

During this time, I've taken the trouble to call and email Moshi Lifestyle in the United States, and they too, are certain this is a manufacturing defect associated with a faulty LCD panel.

Like you so kindly informed me, 'buyer has to bear shipping both ways' for the RMA to take effect, but do ask yourself if this is being fair to me.

I would gladly bear the responsibility if the clock had gone faulty on its own after a week's usage or so, but this unit was spoilt from the start. This is not even damage which resulted from the postage service.

As the MO organiser, I believe you should take some responsibility in case faulty units occur. You've been fortunate enough to only deal with one defective unit, but there should be some fall back in case such situations occur.

Instead, it seems you did have one spare unit at the time I contacted you, but it appears you went ahead and sold it anyway.

Do note: this is a unit that is spoilt from the start, not one which went haywire after being used.

I've already arranged for a ComGateway account so I have a USA address for Moshi Lifestyle to send a replacement unit to.

It is only fair that you bear the cost of registered shipping to Moshi. The quote I've gotten from SingPost is S$21.85. Not a large sum, especially considering what I imagine you've made from this MO. And yes, the mods too, agree that this would be a fair resolution.

Bear in mind, I have no idea how much ComGateway is going to charge me for the return shipping back to Singapore, but it would be rather naive to assume it's less than S$21.85.

I am not asking for you to bear full responsibility but a just resolution ought to be reached. This unfortunate situation has caused an unnecessary amount of stress on my part.

Do get back to me if you're agreeable to what I propose. You have my number - there's also PM.
So, you want a piece of me? Take THAT!!!

hahaha, no offence melissa but...
You seem like what i handle on a day to day basis in my new job - nothing-better-to-do aunties!

That aside, i'll spend sometime answering some of your thoughts and give a ideally satisfying response.

My previous sms to you still stands, i have already sent out the email but waiting for a reply. I don't actually intend to find a contact number and make an overseas call just for this... as said before, i will definitely reply asap as soon as i can get a resolution.

Moshi is customer service representative.. me is human being... frankly saying, possibility clock DOA, possibility buyer when open the product applied unneccesary pressure on it or somehow misused causing damage.

That being said, if you HAPPENED to be one of the 20+ people who tested their sets on the spot at my voiddeck, i'll gladly exchange the DOA set for u. Total of 130 sets i purchase, 0 had the issued u mentioned. Only one complain from dondon about the thermo stat and a couple about insensitive voice recognition.

Yes, 'buyer has to bear shipping both ways' for the RMA to take effect. I not only mentioned this in the pm/sms to you, i also mentioned it when people asked about the warranty during the MO interest check. I said "1 yr warranty from moshi directly." I'm nowhere in the equation.

" considering what I imagine you've made from this MO".
I've done my maths and my gross profit per clock comes up to be about $4 for the 2nd mo. That's excluding 3 taxi rides and a handphone bill bomb that came 1 month later due to outbound calls and smses, and countless time spent arranging the list and meetups. If you feel that organising a MO is easy and highly profitable, i beg to differ...

So much said, yes i agree with you, its not exactly fair to you, if im in your shoes i'd feel somewhat the same. I'll bear the cost of registered shipping to Moshi as you proposed. I emailed the distro which i' ordered from and not moshi directly, so if you've already made arrangements with moshi and have the neccessary procedures then go ahead, just email to me or post on vrz the receipt from singpost of the stamp fee along with a local bank saving account number.

So much being said, i have to stress... its not a money issue here, more of a principle issue, same for ur case i believe. $70 is dispensable to us. Anyway i might not have time to monitor this thread DAILY, so sms if anything urgent.

p.s: and since your at that... you might wanna ask dondon if he wanna RMA his clock as well
