    Win7 64 bit only 3.5 gb ram usable?

    Hi Guy, any idea why my win7 bits can only read 3.5gb? is it due to some setting in my bios?

    Did you enable the memory remap in BIOS settings?

    erm... look through bios.. dun remember seeing any memory remap thingy leh.. is it a standard thing for all mobo.. i am using asus pl1600

    Hi Del, Nope no onboard gfx... using a delicated one. using onboard sound tho but i doubt it will use up any of my ram right =D

    onboard sound nope... dedicated ones have rams thou.. lol..

    this is quite strange. sound like a 32bit limit reached but its 64bit. you got another hdd to do reinstallation?

    huh?? HDD also will affect ar? i already reinstall/format 3 times liao... lol i think this will be my last choice...

    no, i meant the installation process... but you've reinstalled 3 times, then its really strange, probably mobo issue indefinitely.

    you wanna change the ram slots and try again? suppose you're running 2x 2gb in dual channel.

    Hi Guys, Thanks for all the help esp Sempron =) Not sure what it means but it worked =)

    Btw if i enable this on a 32Bit OS will it still read 4 gb ? haha

    actually 32 bit can only read until 3.6 gb if i am not wrong. will still display 4gb

    will display 4 gb, but only 3.5 gb usable actually not 3.6gb.

    for winxp it will use only 3.25gb
    for win2003 it will use 4gb
