The only difference is when you output the vid to the TV from the player, then those who never re-encode to lower resolutions will play better. The only con is that the un-reencoded movie file size damn big sia. 700Mb+
does it come with the re-encoding software, the zen?

Yes Penguin1, it does. It's in the CD with the drivers, but I suggest downloading all the updated drivers and programs online from sg.creative website...the ver in the CD might be back-dated or uncompatible if you're using Vista.

Hmm...so far, I tested, the software can convert the most common file formats to the exact screen size. Umm...wmv, mpeg, avi, divx, quicktime! Not very sure about xvid, but you can still use professional software from other brands to do the conversion first, however, those programs you need to buy or get through "other means" .

Say, you already placed the movie file in the player, you can also edit the end extensions and change the .dat to .avi or .wmv

Yea, via the player.

Hehehe, the new Zen actually quite tempting sia...I also feel like buying because this new one has a slightly wider screen. The Zen Vision M screen a bit too squarish, so the movies sides will kana crop off if you make it full screen, can also choose to fit 'movie to screen' option but got the stupid black borders above and below the movie. LOL!

But then again, the pro of the Zen Vision M above the new Zen is the disk-space, 30GB and 60GB, lol, I easily use up 18GB sia. So I have no idea how much an extra 20GB SD card will cost but definately ex....

Very much satisfied!

Being able to listen to Class 95 in the morning, listen to my mp3s at work, and watch tv shows in xvid natively without the need for conversion is GREAT!!

I love my Vision M....
