Was quite shocked that this phone didnt came w a built-in or integrated FM Radio app. I understand it is actually not included in the specifications., but FM radio capability is so cheap nowadays and not have it in the brilliant HTC Hero (i love the overall aspects of this phone btw). Even my wife's samsung preston has FM radio..

Im a noob at this and what do you mean by 'rooting' your htc hero.

Is there any 3rd party apps and hacks that could add-on a FM Radio application into HTC Hero or izit impossible as the hardware itself cant do FM radio?

u dont hav a radio packet in it.. to tune into radio.. so i dobut u can magically tune into the stns after rooting it.. read up b4 u do things..

erm.. i would like to say i tend to agree with the others that you sld be reading on the spec b4 buying it. There are many high end handphone that do not come with any radio also.. anyway this is my input :

In order to have a radio, a hardware receiver for radio fm frequency must be present on your phone set. Well Hero do not had that hardware fm receiver on it. Alternatively if you want music on your phone, you either copy music mp3 on to your hero or stream it from apps which you can download from the market. however streaming use data, so do so if you are on unlimited data plan. Hero is a good phone, do check the market for free customization.

actually some phone like the iphone has sleeping functions like radio... just waiting for apple to "awaken" it.... maybe the hero has the same?
