Windows Mobile Vs Android dark_descension Nov 2nd, 09, 10:13 PM #1 (permalink)
Anybody got anything on this..?
Really confused which one to use, want HTC HD 2, but people said WinMo 6.5 no good, better use Android. Looked at Verizon's Motorola Android, but don't think pics as good as WinMo. HTC said maybe no Android on HTC HD 2 (sad). Which one you think is better..?

AFAIK Google themselves will not be producing any phones. They only supply the linux based OS called Android, which can be found on some HTC phones and the upcoming Motorola Milestone (Droid in US)..

For WM6.5, if you are familiar with the WM platform then you would enjoy the 6.5 because it is a much improved version from 6.0 and 6.1. I don't experience much lags on my Touch2.

Android works well too. In fact I would say everything that WM has, Android has it too. It even supports Microsoft Exchange for those who uses it.

I think it is best you try it out yourself. I only tried Android for a short while at an event. Rather similar interface. Probably the significant difference between Windows Phones and HTC Google phones is the HTC Sense feature.

WinMo 6.5 sure has nicer looks and I know it supports Microsoft Office (does it support PDF reader too..?). I haven't looked deeper into Android though,

Any reason we're limiting ourselves to these two? Just asking. I'm not an iPhone fan but I have a friend who simply can't live without one.

Yes there is Adobe Reader. I think Android has PDF viewer too. Even the normal Samsung phones can read .doc and PDF files.

The Office mobile on WM6.5 is much better with word count, spell check etc. Not sure if Android has it though. A convenient feature to have although I hardly do long typing on the phone. Touchscreen QWERTY keyboards are not comfortable for such things.
