am a HTC Hero user, can say that in terms of surfing can be quite comparable with iphone.
although you have to take note that no other apps should be open or you'll lag yourself to death lol

Please click Thanks if I've helped you in anyway

Since you're comparing to Storm, i'ld say HTC Hero. Storm has been disappointment, unless you're waiting for Storm 2.

Storm 2 is still a disappointment. It is pretty much Hero vs iPhone in this case.

I might consider Samsung Galaxy Spica as well. A faster processor at 800MHz will be helpful.

I'm using a Storm 2...I don't find it lagging or causing much problem.The interface is much3 better than Storm 1.

Surfing the web is also smooth flowing.But again is up to individual preferences...

But it has less ram then hero . Ram do play a
part in the speed of the phone itself
I would say getting a hero would be better If your comparing
with the storm .
Gadgets :

IPhone 3GS Black || Asus UL80VT ^_^ || PSP Slim

About 20MB+ less. Won't make a difference.

No, it didn't surprise me. In fact, Hero's Sense UI was a silly resource hog that 288MB of RAM was not enough to crank out decent performance.

Motorola Droid/Milestone did fine with 256MB of RAM. Why? Because of a better CPU. Galaxy Spica has something similar and its performance felt much better than Hero/Magic/Dream that use a slower processor.
