I give one example. Please add more if you come across money saving tip.

If you want to save money on travelling, travel during the low season. The savings can be substantial.

For example, if you travel to HongKong during the peak late Oct - Nov season, accomodation costs can be 50% to 100% more than in the low season.

One of the cheapest places to shop for groceries is Sheng Siong supermarkets.

And supermarkets with free parking in Singapore are Turf City, IMM and Ten Mile Junction.

It's far cheaper to use gas heaters for your hot water. And cheaper to use a kettle to boil water and then store the hot water in a vaccum flask.

If you use electrical water heater and water boilers, it will cost you more.

Why? Because there's a conversion step involved. When PUB turns gas into electricity, you have to pay for the conversion charge as well.

Abstain from smoking and drinking lor.

Downgrade to a low powered processor if u are using ur PC for surfing and office works.

If you have a existing car loan, consider refinancing with another bank. I heard that the interest rate is lower than the current rate for a new loan because the banks are fighting for business.

Not sure about the truth of this... please check first.

True to some extent but better check with the banks first coz might have to pay a "fine" to the bank for refiancing.

When doing grocery/daily essentials shopping, buy in bulk. Part of the cost savings of reduced material used for packaging/container goes to you.

sheng siong got a habit of keying more items then u actually bought
esp if u are the kind buy trolley loads of stuff
better double check the receipt

I apologise for my previous statement.

I would like to add that my parents encountered this issue many a times @ sheng siong bedok reserviour.

I cannot cfm on the remaining outlets, but just be wary if @ bedok res.

Actually a good tip on money saving,
is NOT to lose money.

In short, if its too good to be true, it probably is.

Dont be cheated when doing investments of any kind.
