Interesting piece but kinda defeat overclocking on SR2. Start with a mid-low end E5649 x2 + overclock on SR-2 and you get more or less the same performance.

not the same. the x5690 has a locked x26 multi while the e5649 is locked to x19. since the max bclk is around 200-210 ish the max freq clocks for these are way different (3800 vs 5200)
