Over the decades, many have prophesised that the world will end when the ancient Mayan calendar ceases on 21 December 2012. But before that occurs, the human race is bound to face natural disasters such as massive volcano eruptions, typhoons and other natural calamities. An academic researcher opens a portal into a parallel universe and makes contact with his double in order to prevent an apocalypse predicted by the ancient Mayans....

I rated as one of the best movies in 2009. Despite Rotten-Tomatos' criticism on the heavy reliance on CGI in the movie and thus giving it an average rating, it was well-received in Singapore, I must say based on the number of ppl watching in Cineleisure today. I give it a 'Perfect' score. Every part of the movie from the start of the climax, my body is full of adrenaline. Its story was well written. There are indeed stereotyping scenes and the scenes talking about the world governance, in this movie, it's about G8. It makes G8 look ugly at the start. I shall not say more cos what I am about to say are spoilers. Go watch! Sure worth of the weekend ticket price.

back from the movie....... 5.15pm show are packed wit ppl.... almost all the seats are full.... managed to get 4 tickets by around 1+pm...

i would say the graphic effect is nice and cool.... the whole storyline is not bad.... quite thrilling too....

i would give 9/10.. there still room to improve.... however it is much much better than the movie the day after tml.....

just came back from watching. didn't think its as nice as many ppl made it out to be :x
but yeah graphics and storyline ain't bad.
