Way Of The Dragon: From a distance - 20 paddlers move in perfect rhythm to a muted drum beat, gracefully skimming the water's surface. Up close - determined grunts and strained sinews with oars in grip, dig vigorously into the water. ehh, sorry ah.
some of the terms you guys used seemed really foreign to pre-enlistees like me.
care to explain wad's leadership/modified/enhanced/standard batch?

and, from what i know, for next year, there are like 6 days for normal intake, [if i didn't rmb wrongly]: 3, 4, 5 feb (school 1, 2, 3 respectively) and 26, 27, 28 apr (sch 1, 2, 3 resp) [frm what i gathered frm my jc frends].

so 28 apr is considered which kind of batch?
and what does command school mean?
and what's OOT?

hee.

ahh...ok lemme shed some light for u...

in BMT, the standard batch = for those overweight/fail napfa in school, thus it would be longer since they are not as fit...then there comes the modified batch which is the pes C batch and its usually bout 7 weeks only...leadership/enhance batch is the 9 weeks BMT batch which is more likely than the other 2 to enter command school, which is OCS, as well as sispec...

OOT, or some may know it as OOC, refers to Out Of Training/Course, which makes u fail BMT and remain as a REC for ur NS life until u go for the recourse which is usually a few mths b4 u ORD...this is likely to happen if u suffer any injuries during your BMT...also, take note that there are certain criteria to pass BMT, likely goin for the full 24km route march, field camp, live range....and a IPPT pass(silver) or even a gold would also increase ur chances to get into command school...bud no guarantee though...

Eh I think you got it wrong.
You compare STANDARD VS LEADERSHIP:
Standard batch means you are highly unlikely to get into command school
Leadership batch means you got high chance to get into command school

PTP VS ENHANCED:
PTP (PHYSICAL TRAINING PHASE): For those who didn't manage to get at least a NAPFA (SILVER), you will enlist earlier and undergo 8 weeks of physical training to build up your physical fitness and thereafter follow by 9 weeks of BMT.
ENHANCED: For those who get at least NAPFA (SILVER), you will enlist later as compared to the PTP batch and undergo just 9 weeks of BMT.

Standard batch doesn't go for SIT TEST (SITUATIONAL TEST) the 3d/2n field camp that you go thru to determine your ability to lead, only for leadership batch.

There are a few combinations:
PTP STANDARD: Unlikely to go command school, 8 weeks of PTP follow by 9 weeks of BMT
PTP LEADERSHIP: Highly likely to go command school, 8 weeks of PTP follow by 9 weeks of BMT
ENHANCED STANDARD: Unlikely to go command school, 9 weeks of BMT
ENHANCED LEADERSHIP: High likely to go command school, 9 weeks of BMT

The above only true for PES A/B

Modified BMT: 7 weeks only, for PES C
You will still go through about the same shit as your PES A/B counterparts just that your training will be modified like shorter field camp, no IPPT (PES C1 needs IPPT), shorter route marches, no SOC. etc

The criteria for you to pass bmt is you pass 2 out of the 3 criteria:
IPPT
FIELD CAMP
RANGE

Route marches is not a must to pass BMT.

Attendances play a big part too.

What is leadership batch? OCS and SISPEC should have intake 4 times a year, same time as the 4 times BMTC intake a year. I've never heard of standard batch w/o SIT test. I don't believe on the existence of standard batch, tell me more about it.

Actually my "batch" was used interchangably with "coy" to make it simpler for people who enlist to understand.

There are 4 batches with 4 command school intake. Yea.

Then every batches there are many coys in take. some coys standard batch meaning no chance of limited chance of command school cause they don't go for SIT test. while some coys hv leadership intake with chance of command school and they go for sit test
