SLOW Torrent Speed daTsunami Jan 13th, 07, 05:30 PM #1 (permalink)
Tried everything in this forum but I get speed from 20kB/s-60kB/s on average.. is this normal? (using uTorrent but too slow so now i use uTorrent Leecher Mod)

I'm on starhub 6500(think now they upgrade to 7500 already).. behind a linksys befw11 router(port-fowarded).. im on vista(but this problem occurs on XP too)

Downloading with download manager is fine.. i can get above 1mb/s.. any help?

(DHT is off. It overloads my router but activating it produces a little difference if not any.. )

That speed isn't too bad. But it really depends on what kind of stuff you are downloading.

Starhub bumped the speed up to 12000, but if you ask me you won't really see any real-world improvement in BT speeds unless you routinely are able to max out 6500mbps before the speed bump.

DHT is helpful when trackers go offline, but some trackers ban the usage of this. It might be the torrents you have have been set to disable DHT so you might not see any impact.

Like I mentioned earlier, it really depends on the torrent you are downloading. You have to download from very popular torrents. Some of these people are running multiple torrents too. That will boost their speeds as long as their comp and connection can handle it.

Remember that you can only download as fast as people are willing to upload
