Hello all...

i've gotten my mio voice line before the CNY and i'm having problem with it.

when i call home... i can hear my own voice echo during which i cant hear the other side. and that even if i dont say anything.. sometimes the voice on the other side breaks up. theres no static... just silence patched in here and there... its pretty bad that its getting to be hassle to call home. might as well call handphone for clearer lines. whats the point of a fixed line then?? i called singnet.. o... 2 weeks ago... they said they will check but i dont see anything.

anyone has any idea whats going on here?

thanks all

most likely your line is having problems or the mio device is having the problem.

what kind of phone are you using?

hey all,

im facing the EXACT SAME PROBLEM! and on top of that, my broadband likes to disconnect itself so frequently, im getting bloody fedup over it. i've got one linesman and one engineer down from singtel and they simply cant fix the problem! or rather, they insist that there is nothing wrong with the line and they cant find out what is wrong.

like seriously, i want to kill the mio people, real soon.

anyone can help shed some light on these problems that mio has created?

On Mio plan, I pay $83 for all of the above, saving $38.95 every month or 31.93% of savings man...

even if taking the current SNBB10 price (with no freebies), you are still going to pay $18.95 less on the above plans.
I bo huay cos I no SNBB.. only home phone.. mobile I am on the 700 plan.. so no point for me to get the Mio mobile

tested with a Motorola 4082 DECT Cordless phone and 2 other corded phones that i have been using on the old analog line (both tone dialing).

SNBB doesn't disconnect much on my side in recent months. most recent as far as i noticed was on monday night for 30mins whole DSL line was down. smooth sailing for the rest.

i tested when my BB is loaded and unloaded(i even disconnected all computers from it!)... it doesnt matter. the interruptions are still there. i doubt a loaded line would matter much?? the BB transfer speed limitation is server side. the line itself is supposed to be capable upwards of 25Mbps and i'm only on 3Mbps.

everyone is using 2wire right? anyone here with a GooD Voice connection can go under the Management and Diagnostic Console (not the normal ones.) and see hows your statistic? i'm interested to compare a few values... namely "Total RTCP packets", "Max inter-arrival jitter", "Sum of inter-arrival jitter", "Sum of inter-arrival jitter sqr'd"... from both Outbound (last) and Inbound (last).

cos my inbound is relatively jitter free and the outbound has jitters... which seems corresponds to the home side listen to caller is clear... but caller listen to homeside is jittery.

anyway... got a technician to come down on Friday... i wont be at home tho. someone else will be. i'll report back here again then.

I thinking of changing but i see its so complicated don't want to change already. I rather stick to my SNBB 1.5 and home fixed line. I have a singtel mobile line but under another account.

Don't see much point in it where you HP have to have wifi to have free calls etc. and if your internet is down then you cannot even make calls out? Its like quite useless lah if like this cos i want my house phone to be 24/7 standby for emergency calls and not see whether singnet is up or not. Worse if i talking halfway then they dc.

And i think i read in another thread that if you recontract your mobile line upgrade handphone the mio contract will start all over? Very complicated and i calculated with my usage not much savings lah. Maybe i take all the entry level services by singtel so don't see the difference.

this one likely user problem more often...

its just slow in response when configuring, but it sure is working... and working darn well for a gateway

Thinking about subscribing to Mio (broadband + Home phone + Mobile) with two unresolved questions:

I have fixed line phones in every room now and they are connected to the phone jacks on the wall. After switching to Mio, I believe the phone has to be connected to the Mio box. Does that mean I need to buy a phone that can support multiple wireless handsets and put those handsets in different rooms?

Read some comments about the bad voice quality on Mio. Did any one manage to get good voice quality on Mio?

Thanks.
