Help needed... bluryin Apr 13th, 07, 09:58 PM #1 (permalink)
Hi all,

i am currently on wired access, and would like to go wireless, hoping to get it done up soon? I will need help/recommendations on choosing wireless adapter for my 2 com and a router to connect my 2 coms and a laptop. 1 com will be for bt and gaming and e rest will be for normal usage. Budget wise, maybe below $300.

For router, currently lookin at D-link 634 and 635. Which will suits me? For e adapter, i am totally clueless, will there be a difference using between USB and PCI slot?

All recommendations and help greatly are appreciated. Thanks alot.

Regards.

DI-634M is a MIMO Wireless Router, while DIR-635 a Draft-N Wireless Router ... guess u need to do research & readup on wat u need most (shop assistant gives vague ans to qns) ... usb wireless adapters are for convenience of portability compared to pci ... as for price as below:

D-Link DIR-635 W.Router + DWA-547 W.PCI - $319
D-Link DIR-635 W.Router + DWA-142 W.USB - $329

DI-634M MIMO W.Router + DWL-G520M MIMO W.PCI - $200

Hopes it helps in ur decision.

get the 635, it is a draft-N, i remember dlink said all draft-N will be able to do a firmware upgrade to N when the spec is out.
for gaming, i rather stick with wire connection.
