uTorrent capped at 30kB/s MuttonFlanks May 9th, 07, 09:01 PM #1 (permalink)
I've never seen this happen before. My downloads are capped right around 30 kB/s for some reason. It's as if I'm on DSL, if one of the torrent speeds goes up the other goes down. If I am downloading 2 files and I delete one the other doubles.

I used to get 500kB/s and now it's at 30 for some reason. I have not changed any of my settings but I did switch to a new motherboard. As far as I know my ports are forwarded correctly and my uTorrent is set up properly as well.

I even tried the tcpip.sys patch (which I never had to use before) and set the half open to 50 but still the same results. I can download from websites fine, average about 700kB/s and good sites I can get to 1.5MB/s easily.

But uTorrent seems to be capped at 30kB/s now all of a sudden. Even the well seeded ones where I connect to over 300 seeds it's still capped at 30. Anyone ever experience anything like this before or know what's wrong?

I'm using a DI-524 router.

but do you guys limit your uploading speed? or everything everything leave it as default? cos if i leave default, my uploading speed always higher than my downloading speed?

I don't think its utorrent itself as i'm using it and with my settings capped upload at 22kB/s i can get downloads at near 200kB/s for high seeded torrents. encryption on of cos and vista 32bit open ports patched.

my utorrent is going like 0.4kb/s for each file for these few days. I dont think its the fault of the uploading party. Somehow it seems like the speed is being blocked. Last night there was an increase to a regular 300kb/s but now its like its reverted back to slow mode. I tried updating the trackers but its of no use. wondering if things would change if i change the bt program

Do you mean you upload at 8 kbps now or do you mean 8 is the Number Of Upload Slots Per Torrent?

hi all i'm actually on maxonline 12000 so for me...i put my max upload to 1/2 my max upload...so although my max is ard 40 kbtye/sec i will set to 10-15kbyte/sec to share so that i will not affect my download...but if there's router then u may wish to take out of overall bandwidth consumed by u and other computers
