Internet stop responding... limsteel Mar 24th, 09, 01:31 AM #1 (permalink)
Starhub cheapest 2Mbps plan connected via Cable (rj45) not USB Samsung Modem.

When I surf around, no problem. when even I go watch movies online or download files, where lots of data is being transferred. The network suddenly stop receiving data after a short period (5min - 10min)

I have to disable the NIC and enable it again to regain the transfer.

I have tried various config...
- direct connection from Cable point to Cable modem
(tested with different cable points in the house)
- Direct Connect to Modem,
- Connect Wireless,
- Connect to port of Wifi Router

Recently Bro temp transfer his Starhub account 8Mbps for me to use as he is shifting house.

Using his Motorola modem, the same thing happens...
- cable point shared with TV 1-2
- direct connect to modem
- connect to port of Wifi Router

Same thing happens... I have to disable and enable the NIC then the data transfer resume... tested with 2 modems and several connections patterns. CAN I confirm this is the Cable fault?

Anyone has the same situation... any solutions.

Call STARHUB WAITING TIME IS TOO DAMN LONG. They will BLAME YOUR MODEM quickly. they will ask you to connect modem and PC directly... then when you tell them can't, they ask you buy new modem, as modem faulty.

IF SINGNET DOESN'T NEED A PHONE LINE.
