Hey bros,

My computer is less than a month old and with more than adequate hardware to play most of the current games. However I keep getting lag spikes even when playing a simple rts like dota I mean wtf??? I just upgraded to 10mbs and am using the mio box connected to my com with linksys network card adaptor was brought from my previous com and its about 1.5-2m away from the mio box with a concrete wall in between.

What Should I do? change wireless card? Get N-router? change the modem?

Thanks in advance I'm at wits end trying to find out why dota lag...

I'm just saying I love my com when it comes to any offline game crysis 2 farcry 2 L4D Prototype etc. Until you play online, then my com sucks...

did u check with the others in game whether the lag spike are cause by the host?

Did your PC get infected by any way?


most prob is the wireless, cos the comments on the 2wire is quite bad.

Mio plans tend to have high latency spikes so probably that's the reason why...

Dam I'm gonna get a lan cable to test if its the wireless if so N-routers and adaptors i guess..

reali meh... then how come my friend initially used Singnet no problem then switched to Mio plan package a lot of internet connection problems?

Singtel fixed line in Mio also runs on internet mah... Not on traditional lines.. So Mio is different from individual services..

My previous modem was a 2wire 2700HGV (grey box) and when it died the technician came by and changed to the newer 2wire modem 2701hgv-e (white).

Ever since then, online gaming has become laggier with random lag spikes.

When I BT, I can't even even surf the net as webpages refuse to load.

Using SNBB 10mb anyway and never changed any settings pc side.

I feel the modem is screwing up everything... any advise?
